Papi prides itself for being a sexy men’s underwear brand and the brand’s new Sexy collection proves just that. Hitting stores in mid December, the Papi Sexy range is designed to enhance the male profile by shaping and lifting your package and giving an even sexier contour.
“The name Papi has a sexy appeal itself and therefore the Papi Sexy collection came from the need to have something that really screamed sexy,” Lucio De Carvalho, vice president of design for Papi, told The Underwear Expert.
Made from 83% cotton and 17% spandex, the Sexy collection introduces the brand’s Profile Enhancer, which combined with the fabric has a strong ability to lift. “This is the first time we have come out with such type of pouch but all our garments have a shaped front pouch that fits amazingly,” said De Carvalho. “This pouch is just one step above, with a little extra spandex that holds you in place while pushing you forward.”
Unlike some profile enhancing men’s underwear, the Papi Sexy collection offers comfort first. “Some other enhancing underwear out there have padding and complicated designs,” noted De Carvalho. “We just want to give you support and comfort in a sexy cut with great fabrication and more spandex to keep you shaped right.” Also, the cotton and spandex blend comes with a natural absorbent fiber, which is comfortable and soft.
The Papi Sexy collection comes in two sexy colors. Available in S-XL, the range, which consists of a Low-rise brief ($24), Euro Trunk ($26), Brazilian Trunk ($26) and Boxer Brief ($28), is offered in red and black. “The Sexy collection is a perfect gift anytime from the holidays through Valentine’s Day,” noted De Carvalho. The packaging of the Sexy collection also makes it the perfect gift for the holidays as the box showcases a glossy, red and black finish with a smooth feel. The box also features a tantalizing image of a model wearing a product from the collection.
Like many of Papi’s collections, the Sexy range will become a permanent staple with new updates in the future. “We think the collection will go through evolution and have a great response because it is incredible underwear,” said De Carvalho. “Once a guy tries it on, he will be amazed.”

Papi often takes its design cues from the vibrant fashion trends of Latin America, but the Miami-based brand’s latest collection reflects quite a different source of inspiration: Scotland. Papi’s Scotties collection, which hits stores mid November, combines the brand’s flair for bright colors and infuses it with the Scottish, traditional look of plaid tartans.
“For this particular collection we went to Scotland where men wear kilts,” Lucio De Carvalho, vice president of design for Papi, told The Underwear Expert. “We thought it would be sexy and fun to have a collection inspired by plaid tartans with a bit of color and attitude.”
Before the concept of the Scotties collection came up, Papi presented plaid tartans in two of its recent contemporary collections: Allure and Ibiza 2. However, the Scotties range showcases a more traditional style of plaid as seen in Scottish kilts and comes in six vivid colors—blue, green, orange, yellow, red and black. Consumers can choose which hue best suits their personality. “There are particular designs that men understand well and plaid happens to be one of them,” said De Carvalho. “When we incorporated plaids into our collections, we did very well with them.”
For a comfortable feel and body defining fit, the Scotties collection is made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex. The combination of cotton and spandex naturally absorbs moisture while providing an ultra soft feel. “Cotton is by nature a moisture absorbent fiber,” said De Carvahlo. “Its filaments are long and durable making it extremely comfortable and a fiber of choice by most people. By blending the cotton with spandex we are making it fit your body better.”
De Carvahlo added, “We blend the softness of cotton with the stretch properties of the spandex, making it more comfortable and easy to fit. Our quantity of spandex will determinate how much you want that fabric to hug your body; 5% is ideal to give you comfort with ease of movement.”
Available in S-XL, the Scotties collection is offered as a Brazilian trunk ($22), which features a distinct low-rise fit and supportive contour pouch.
