Papi debuts a new collection of vintage-inspired underwear that features interwoven yarns of mixed colors. Just in time for the upcoming spring season, the Papi Space Dye Hanging range, which consists of a Brazilian trunk ($24) and tank top ($30), will hit stores early March.
Heather grey served as the inspiration for the Space Dye Hanging collection, which comes in three bright shades of red, blue and purple. The brand, in turn, found a yarn that not only offers the same appearance as heather grey but also could be made with bright colors.
The new collection is made from a fabric blend of 95% cotton and 5% spandex. The fabric underwent a unique “space dying” technique that produces the collection’s muted shades with flecks of color, according to the brand. For the Space Dye Hanging collection, Papi wanted to offer consumers softly muted shades rather than the vibrant colors typically offered in other collections.
The Space Dye Hanging range’s combination of cotton and spandex provides the right amount of comfort and fit. What’s more, the addition of spandex to cotton ensures that the garment will retain its shape. Cotton has a tendency to wrinkle while spandex is commonly used in non-iron items like your underwear, according to the brand.
What also makes the Space Dye Hanging range a standout is the sexy contour pouch, which offers a flattering silhouette.

Ask the Expert: Can Undershirts Improve My Physique?

http://www.underwearexpert.com/2013/02/ask-the-expert-compression-undershirts/
Mike from Portland, ME: I love underwear, but I don’t have the body of an underwear model. Are there any undershirts you would recommend that could help me look less doughy? Do compression undershirts help?
The Underwear Expert: Don’t worry about it, Mainer Mike. There are plenty of options for guys who just don’t have the metabolism of a 21 year old athlete. Let me guess: you have a little bit of a paunch and you wish everything was tighter around your waistline. If your undershirts are too big, they look like drapes hanging over your body. If your undershirts are too small, you have skin hanging out in an unattractive way. Almost everyone runs into this problem at some point and you’re ahead of the game by recognizing that compression undershirts can be the solution.
Let’s start with Papi Six Pack ($44-$48), which gives you body-defining compression without reducing your style. We talked to Lucio De Carvalho, the vice president of design for Papi, and he told us, “The pattern is carefully engineered to insure it hugs the body specifically where it needs tuck and lift … The special fabric and expert fit work to hide the unwanted fat areas and keeps the chest area firm while giving the back the support needed.”
That special fabric he’s talking about is 83% cotton and 17% spandex, giving stretch, comfort and lift. It’s a great way to keep your extra bits in check.

papi Goes Meshing Around

Papi introduces a new collection of mesh underwear that consists of Brazilian trunks ($22), briefs ($20) and tank tops ($30). Hitting stores mid February, the Papi Meshing Around collection comes in bright colors such as lemon light, parrot green, intensity red and blue swept.
Mesh fabric presents a variety of sexy underwear styles and comes in different gauges and thicknesses to show off your curves while allowing the air to flow around your body. What makes the Papi Meshing Around collection so unique is the product’s “style, colors, fit and overall appeal of the garment,” Lucio De Carvalho, vice president of design for Papi, told the Underwear Expert. “This collection really enhances the body giving a super sexy athletic fit.”
The new Meshing Around range is an evolution of some of the brand’s previous collections, which included mesh inserts or an all-over mesh fabric. “The all-over mesh was more popular so we decided to improve the style and construction to come up with an even better, fully mesh underwear,” said De Carvalho.
The new mesh underwear collection is made from a fabric blend of 75% nylon and 25% spandex, which provides ideal comfort and fit. “It is breathable and super soft yet it has the right amount of spandex to hold you in place and give you freedom of movement,” said De Carvalho. “We are always releasing new fabrics, new styles and new collections. The look of this particular mesh fabric is super sexy, and we think mesh will continue to be popular.”
The Meshing Around collection offers a sporty aesthetic with contrast piping on the underwear’s leg openings and contour pouch while the tank top features contrast piping on the shoulder openings. “The mesh collection has a collegiate feel to it like a uniform or mesh jersey,” said De Carvalho. “It’s for the guy who is sexy and athletic.”
The brand came up with the new fabric blend while exploring new innovations for the underwear market. “Nylon is a very fine yarn,” said De Carvalho. “Our mesh underwear has the perfect percentage of spandex combined with the nylon to keep it soft while giving the right amount of stretch your body naturally needs.”
The Papi Meshing Around collection is available in S-XL.
